135 Units. Affordable work force housing.
This transit-oriented development, consisting of two 4-story buildings, is a modern, energy-efficient style reflective of recent developments along the Hiawatha LRT, but will be accessible to households with a range of incomes and includes 103 new workforce housing units. This community asset also hosts 11 supportive housing units for long-term homeless households living with HIV/AIDS.
Blue Line Flats transforms its parcel from the least desirable site use - vacant, blighted land - to the most desirable use: high quality and innovative housing for a variety of residents. The close proximity to LRT and bus transit, as well as the nearby Midtown Farmer's Market, the YWCA, and ready access to many jobs, makes this an ideal development. A new private street bisecting the site reconnects the neighborhood grid and draws residents to nearby amenities.
