St. Louis Park, MN. 2016
144 Units. Market rate housing.
Once a school campus, the Siena Apartments building seamlessly integrates into a single-family community in St. Louis Park. The 144-unit market-rate apartment design creates two distinct buildings that minimize impact on the surrounding neighborhood while creating dual courtyard amenities for residents. A new private street was designed to connect the neighborhood in a traditional fashion, and provides visitor parking without a need for surface parking lots.
The facade along the new street is articulated in a pedestrian-friendly rowhouse expression with individual front entries and stoops wrapping all street elevations. Siena Apartments intersperses three-story heights with some two-story areas to step down toward the neighborhood, and to provide additional building articulation.
